In today’s world we see fewer people who show abstinence in their lives. Daily many evils lurk around us, no longer hidden in those “dark alleyways” or behind “closed doors.” It is clear we have reached in this land almost the panicle of uncontrollable desire or as the Bible puts it, SIN!
We have divorces ripping families apart because of adultery and lack of understanding about the marriage commitment. We have our children now able to view things through the media that are not fit for anyone’s consideration, much less viewing! Then there are also the blatant obvious unblushing advances of the homosexual community attempting to force into the minds of innocent children and confused adults the sin of “same sex marriages.” Unscriptural relationships on top of the overwhelming violence seem to all be patted down with “loving” care by our “religious” and “political” leaders who via their unholy ecumenical councils and corrupt perverted legislation allow sin to run rampant in our land. What are we to do? What are those who are guilty of not abstaining from such to do? Remember the upcoming 2016 presidential election, at least at this time in history we have the blessing of voting our moral/biblical principles. Even if we are the only ones who will vote our conscience, so be it!
1Peter 2:11 Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul; (ASV)
1 Thessalonians 5:22 abstain from every form of evil. (ASV)
